Dongguan Eco-Forest Trail
HABITAT & VEGETATION
The habitat along the Eco-Forest Trail is extensively planted with the Acacia species, such as Ear-leaved Acacia (Acacia auriculiformis) and Big-leaved Acacia (Acacia mangium). Most of the trees at Mission Hills are native species that breed naturally or have become naturalized over a considerably long period of time in an area. Compared with exotic trees, native trees are favored by local wildlife such as bats and birds, which have evolved to feed on them, and are therefore more beneficial to biodiversity and the local ecological community.
